Portrait of a Dog: Avy, the avalanche dog

December 7, 2014

What do you like about your line of work?  Time outside of course! And hanging with my human.  We bonded bigtime during our 3 years of training together, when I learned to seek out scent pools rising from the snow, coming from folks caught underneath it.

How do you relax at the end of a busy day?  Fireside with my human, nibbling on a braided chew stick.

If you had to choose, who would you want to do your dog portrait – Warhol or Pollock?  Not sure what kind of a portrait Pollock would create, but I’d be curious to find out.  But really I’d want a dog portrait by Katherine Miller.  Her use of color is funky - check out the examples on this site, and she can work in watercolor or oil.

Would you want a close-up or full body?  I think a close-up, an unexpected one. Maybe a painting of my paws in the snow.

Every dog deserves its moment of fame.  Learn more about Katherine's dog paintings by visiting the Commissions section of this website
